Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw also known by her stage name Elizabeth Alice MacGraw has been as a performer, model and animal rights advocate in the United States. Love Story (1970), Goodbye Columbus '69 and The Getaway '72 are some of her most acclaimed films. She grew up in an artistic family in New York and wanted to pursue a career in art. Her first job was as a photography assistant and then turned to acting and modeling. Her first two movies got noticed and earned her the Golden Globe Award of Most Promising newcomer. MacGraw's film Love Story proved a major smash and brought her world fame as well as several awards including an Academy Award' nomination and a Golden Globe award. Within just three short films MacGraw became the most popular female box-office star worldwide. In 1972 her hand-footprints and signatures were recorded at Grauman's Chinese Theater. Additionally, to The Getaway Convoy Players she also starred in the television miniseries The Winds of War. Moving Pictures, a 1991 autobiography, of hers was released. MacGraw has been married three times.
